Songs that inspire me: 30 Seconds to Mar- Alibi

One day while driving down Route 9 on my way home, my iPod started playing this song. This song was the one of the few TSTM songs that I never paid attention to, so I didn’t realize what kind of song it was.

From the moment it started playing the mellow piano rift, something inside me clicked. My writer’s side, my creative side. I listened to the songs, the lyrics, the voice, and something inside me just pictured an entire scene while driving. It was like my body and self conscious was controlling the car and brought me back home safely. But my imagination, my subconscious was creating an unforgettable scene that I will one day write.

You might not understand through the first few minutes, but make it to around 3:30 of the song, and you’ll understand. Every time he just starts hailing his voice through the speakers, and saying “I fell apart, and got back up again”….

It really made me think of my novels, how my hero can be stricken down over and over again, and brings himself back up, the love of his friends and family fueling him to defeat the enemy. It really sent the biggest chills down my spine.
